I should have said that I can accommodate three passengers, one of whom I am assuming will be davidb. If you require a lift, can you let me know via this thread so I can be sure there are sufficient places for everyone who needs one.

LOL... you beat me to it Mike ! I was just compiling a list of responses :) Simon also expressed interest, so if he and Ros could confirm that would be great.
Looks like we have a good number ! We might want to split into two smaller groups though to avoid crowding in the hides...

Dear Mike,
It was good to meet you and many other club members yesterday. I also enjoyed the talk & slides.
I would very much like to go to the Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve this coming Sunday provided I can get a car ride there and back.
I would be happy to pay towards the costs of transport. The pub lunch sounds fun too.
Additionally, I would take up immediate membership of the Croydon Camera Club and will pay my subs of £30.00 on Sunday.
Look forward to hearing from you via this forum or by email (iggy007@live.co.uk).

I see that DavidB also has also kindly offered a space in his car.

Kind regards,
Iggy

Reposting the arrangements for ease of reference...

We're aiming for a 10am start. Turn off Bradbourne Vale Road into the lane and follow it left, past the stables and down into the reserve. After you've parked up, we will meet at the refreshment area. Arrive anytime after 9:30, grab yourself a coffee or tea while we wait for everyone and we will will set off promptly at 10am. I suggest we start with the hide immediately next door to the hut, so that any latecomers have a chance of finding us. It's on the smaller lake and not the busiest for activity, but it has the advantage of some bird feeders hanging right outside the hide from where you can get some really close shots of blue tits etc. So close you don't even need a long lens in fact.

After a couple of hours or more at Sevenoaks, depending on how people feel, and weather, light conditions, etc, we will retire to a pub for some lunch. And for anyone who wants to, we can continue on to Bough Beech Reservoir in the afternoon.

If you don't have a long zoom lens you might consider hiring - or clubbing together with another member to hire one to share on the day ? Or you could hire an extender to get more reach on a shorter zoom such as a 70-200. (make sure the extender is compatible with both your lens and your camera's AF system though). Even without a long lens you will be able to take landscape shots and there are often birds and nests right on the lakeside. You can take sneaky shots of club members too of course ! LOL ;) ;) You could also bring binoculars or a telescope.

There will be some gentle walking around the site - although the hides themselves will be dry the paths can often be muddy so come prepared with good footwear. The weather forecast for Sunday is currently cloudy, dry, and 11-16 degrees.

I wish I could but I'm in the same position as you Iggy - I need a lift too. If you can get to the Shirley Methodist Church car park by 9:15am I'm sure you'll find someone who can help.

Hi David, Apologies for my confusion. i am new to forums.
I am very keen to go on this trip which should hopefully not be a problem.
I will be imploring my wife to drop me off on Sunday at Shirley Methodist Church soon after 9 am.
I am sure that Mike will let me know if all the spaces in his car have been taken up or not.

Rose, look forward to hopefully meeting you too and others going on this outing.

Iggy Tavares

PS: A pair of blackbirds have nested for the first time in a decade deep inside a holly tree in our garden about 5 metres from our back room french windows. Can just about see the yellow gaping mouths of 3 or 4 young among the shadows when the parents come in to feed but unfortunately no chance of any photos.

Hi Iggy

I can confirm that I will have a space in the car for you. There is still a place left if anyone requires it.
