RPS members can also get a reduced price entry ticket and should have received the details in an e-mail sent by the society. As with the EOS magazine, it only applies to full price tickets and not concessions.

Following the change of time for the return journey when I booked the tickets, these are the revised travel arrangements.

Saturday, 1 March

Meet at East Croydon: 08:30
Depart Euston: 10:03
Arrive Birmingham International: 11:13
Depart Birmingham International: 19:00
Arrive Euston: 20:22

The prepaid advance purchase tickets are for the journeys between Euston and Birmingham International. Those going will need to make their own arrangements for travel to and from Croydon.

ePHOTOzine has created an online guide to exhibitors at the show, although at present it is does not offer much more that the official Photography Show website. There is some information about a few of the exhibitors, but most have nothing beyond their names and stand number. It is not clear whether this is a work in progress or all there is ever going to be. As It is, I cannot see whey they bothered, but it might be worthwhile taking a closer look nearer the time.

These discounted advance tickets are now starting to appear all over the place. For example, ePHOTOzine is running the offer and that is the second one I have seen today. I do hope no one has paid the full price.

From 11pm on 27th February prices will switch to on the door prices, so anyone wanting to book in advance who has not already done so has a limited time left. Tickets are sent via e-mail, as is a voucher for the show guide if purchased, which have to be printed and taken to the show. I received three copies of each, which presumably is the organiser's method to guard against non receipt, e-mail not being a guaranteed delivery mechanism.

For those who do not qualify for the concession price, booking in advance does save a bit of money even when the 95p booking fee is taken into account if using one of the various offers such as ePHOTOzine's and should mean quicker entry into the show.

A very enjoyable day out and, yes, purchases were made. Some even got to take their goodies home with them. ;)

The only real negative was that the show guide was disappointing and not really worth the £5 asking price. Apart from a helpful map of the various stands and an exhibitor list, it had lttle other utility.

Thanks to Dave, Frank and Wally for their company on the day.
