Aha OK - initially it's actually been more of a practical session but I'll see if I can knock something up about post processing if possible. Though not a lot has been required.
Any shots in particular? When Nina initially approached me I think it was more the "trick photography" stuff she had in mind (which is essentially untouched in PS )
Still, if people have questions afterwards they can always grab me or we can organise a session indoors sometime.

Re: 13th November - Flashes, triggers & receivers needed!
As I said, it is your call and much will depend on what you have available and can set up. Given that we are in the church hall, that will rule out some of the messier things which you have done, such as with the colour water splashing into the wine glasses. I would be interested to see the rim lit effect if that is possible.
I think that some sort of introductory talk will be useful as it will give people a better idea of what they need to do for themselves. Otherwise, it will just be people milling around trying to get shots and not having that interesting an evening. The talk does not have to be anything fancy and as you have been doing this, you will know all the information. If you do not have time to do a PowerPoint, just jot the key details down on a piece of paper as an aide memoire.
One thing you could think about, although I do not know how practical it would be, would be to put each set together as part of the talk. That way, people will get an idea of what is involved.
What it will need is some kind of structure, otherwise it is going to be like herding cats.

The rim lighting/dark field is on the list, as is the water splash actually - I have a way of doing that which isn't TOO messy

Can supply a small fish tank if needed?

Thanks but I think I'm OK for tomorrow now - finally done a (short) presentation, packed the car and have a list of what I need to do tomorrow.

Re: 13th November - Flashes, triggers & receivers needed!
Good news. I now have batteries for all my wireless flash triggers.
Re: 13th November - Flashes, triggers & receivers needed!
davidc - you shouldn't have worried. You got a good turnout and I'm sure everyone enjoyed the various set-ups you provided. I certainly did and, although still life is not a subject I particularly enjoy, I did get some useful tips from your presentation.
Now I just need to get some equipment to try some experiments myself.
Many thanks.

Thanks for the feedback and I'm pleased you enjoyed it! I was worried I'd tried to do too much and failed to do each setup sufficient justice.
I am hoping to update the strobist gear list tomorrow. Based on the number of requests I've had, Amazon are going to sell a lot of flashes and triggers soon

Can't wait to see your list of equipment.
I'm particularly intrigued by the software you used for capturing the moving water in the glass setup. And the splash effects have always caught my imagination but have never actually tried to do this. Perhaps if I can find a small space (bathroom might be a good place) in my flat I might try it sometime.
