Hehe thank you. I'm starting to work on planning the practical side of the evening now. Given the number of people we could have and the relative lack of equipment I'm thinking about having numerous small/single flash "setups" people can experiment with and something like this or the martini glass are on the shortlist.

Dave

I have fixed lights, a couple of flashguns, some wireless flash triggers, stands, diffuser and a brolly which I can bring along on the night if that helps. Depending on what you are planning, maybe we can make an appeal for other members to bring along kit on the evening?

Sounds good - the current plan is to do maybe 30 mins of discussion of strobism plus an overview of each of the different setups before letting people loose on them. After letting people cycle around each of the different scenes I figured I'd then wrap it up with examples of some of the better examples I've seen online.

We also walked around this lake, well done on finding a good viewpoint of the castle, I wasnt inspired myself on the day and concentrated on the surrounding woodland.

#241 - A Long, Dark Road Ahead

Postby davidc » Mon 02 Sep 2013, 15:13

A busy day at work then straight onto the road for a family event. No time for anything at all so in desperation I turned to shooting images out of the car.

Surprisingly the results were interesting - even the shaky light-smears looked a bit artistic - but I felt this one summed up the journey best... a long journey in the dark with little to see but the lights of the car ahead.

Postby davidc » Tue 03 Sep 2013, 14:31

A frame from my timelapse that I did at the weekend, we can see a meteor upper right, just about make out a fuzzy blur that is the Andromeda galaxy near the centre and the Pleiades star cluster creeping in bottom left.

Well the month of "no flowers" has ended so I thought it fitting to start September with a flower pic :)
