Hi Jeff

Sorry that you cannot make the trip on this occasion. If all goes well on this event, I will think about organising an outing to somewhere else later in the summer. I have got some places in mind. That does not preclude someone else coming up with their own suggestion, of course.

The schedule for the day (all timings after the initial meeting are approximate):

• 11:00 - Meet in Market Place at Annette’s Baguettes / Havishams
• 11:30 - Walk to Standard Quay via Court St/Abbey St, stopping at St Mary of Charity Church en route
• 13:00 - Lunch at Secret Garden (Standard Quay)
• 14:00 - Continue exploring Standard Quay and adjacent boatyard
• 15:00 - Creek Basin and Stonebridge Pond or optional visit to Oare Marshes
• 16:00 - Depart

In the next day or so, I will be sending an e-mail to attendees with more information.
Regards

I have prepared some notes about this trip which I will also e-mail along with a map to those who have expressed an interest in the outing. If anyone else wishes to participate, all are welcome.

Hi Mike,
It’s unlikely I will be able to attend the Faversham trip. I have been informed that our complete block of flats carpets are to be changed on Tuesday, unfortunately there is no alternative day available.

Hi Michael

Sorry to learn about the clash. If this trip goes well, I will consider organising something else for the club and maybe fortune will be more considerate.

Hi Mike and fellow day trippers,
I am sorry I won't be joining you tomorrow as I have so much to do at the shop. We closed on 30th April and we are now clearing it out, cancelling all services and completing accounts.
We want to finish it all before our trip on 2nd June.
I hope you all have a super day and I look forward to seeing some of your images in due course.
Have fun.
Tina xx

Thanks, Tina.

Sorry that you could not make it this time.

I hope that everyone enjoyed themselves and I echo Tina's request to see some of the shots that people took during the day. I am still working on mine, but in the meantime here are a few snaps. More to follow.

This cat was enjoying the heat of the sunshine while lying behind a window. Does anyone else think that it is strange that an animal covered in fur seeks out places where there is warmth?

The boatyard beyond Standard Quay has been on my "to visit" list for a while. Thankls to Steve, I finally found the path that leads to it. It did not disappoint, mainly with its potential for creating abstract images. With a high tide in the creek, there were some boats being lifted into (as in this shot) and out of the water.

There were a couple of Openreach vans in the boatyard, which seemed odd. I eventually found out why when speaking to the engineers. They had just completed a repair that had been a simple fix. What had taken the time was finding the location of the underground cable. The chap on the left had started looking the previous afternoon and had been forced to call in assistance to track it down. The standard signs used on the barriers to do not make much sense at this location!

An interesting day and a place I'd never been to before.

A couple of images of the day from me.

Happy to upload more images but I'm sure that there will be some more forthcoming soon.
