Paper Spectrum Offer

Postby Mike Farley » Sun 01 Mar 2020, 15:13

Paper Spectrum, which is based in Leicester, is again running a 20% discount offer for its photo paper and mountboard products. The dates of the offer coincide with The Photography Show between 14 - 17 March. The photo papers get good reviews and a useful source of information is Keith Cooper's Northlight Images website. The link below is his review of the Lustre 300 paper which seems similar to the Permajet's Oyster paper. There are other reviews by him which cover a number of the most popular papers.

The mountboard has the benefit of being pre-cut to size, which saves time and hassle when mounting prints. So far as I can tell, the quality is similar to the board which we obtain from Wessex Pictures. As well as some mounts, I shall probably be ordering some more backing board. It is not particularly thick, but does the job of protecting the rear of the print even if it does not provide much additional stiffening for an image which might be on extended display, such as is the case with the SPA Biennial exhibition in Guildford. I will probably use the backing board for my annual club exhibition prints which will be on show in a frame.

If anyone wants to join in to save on the modest delivery charge, let me know. I have a swatch of mountboard samples if anyone is interested in seeing it.
