Hi Peter,
I was wondering who was the admin for the Flickr page.
If you need more admins, you can put me down for that.

Hi Rose,
Thanks for your reply.
I'll definitely take a look, and will probably pick your brains, too!

Bett wrote:Great idea Rebecca, as you I know I use FB regularly and belong to several groups nature, wildlife and photographic. I have made some lovely friends and meet up for days out and social gatherings, so to me its the way to go in my opinion. If you need any help just give me a shout.

Thank you, Bett. I certainly will!

Re: Facebook page for the club
Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to contribute to this thread.
I've not replied before now, partly as I have been busy writing reports. Also, I didn't get any notifications of replies ... ?? Yes, I did tick the notify box.
So far on my list of possible admins I have Paul, Bett, and Steven Geal who emailed me about the matter.
If I have missed anyone, please shout!

Re: Facebook page for the club
If you have any photos of Croydon that are reasonably recent that might be suitable as the cover photo for our Facebook page, please send them to
cccfacebookphotos@hotmail.com.
Photos should be landscape format. An aspect ratio of 16:9 would be great, or as long as the width is roughly double the height, that would be suitable.

Hi Rebecca
As a user of Facebook I feel qualified to express my opinion that the idea is great and timely. I am happy to contribute some pictures and be involved in selection and /or acting as admin for content.

Re: Facebook page for the club
Definitely the way to go. None too keen on Facebook as a personal forum myself, far too intrusive for my liking. But Facebook is excellent for group activities and would be happy to support it.
Cheers,
Graham

Re: Facebook page for the club
Mid Somerset's Facebook page has been running for 12 months now. There was considerable scepticism from some members who were not on Facebook themselves and who did not understand how it could be useful when we already have a website. However, it has grown into an excellent resource which supports and encourages club activities. Some members have now joined Facebook simply to access the club's page as we are sharing lots of valuable information and it's so easy to communicate. We now have 40 club members on the page (we have c.50 members in total). It has also brought in new members. Having originally set it up as a closed page, we have now opened it to the public to view, but only club members can post and all requests to join have to be approved. Do have a browse to see how we're using it... https://www.facebook.com/groups/402028203484101/

Re: Facebook page for the club
Thank you so much, Rose, for your advice on this. We definitely plan to talk about how you've set up the page for your camera club as a possible solution for us.
