After an 11pm ferry and driving from 4am, we started our French trip at Mont St Michel

I also added some older pictures to "catch up" but I don't really care too much for them, they're all on flickr if you're THAT interested
Crud happens!
#267 - Bayeaux Cathedral
This was a totally unexpected moment - until this point, our trip to Bayeux had mostly been accompanied with miserable, uniform grey skies (known as "meh" in French).
Almost as soon as we stepped into the cathedral this bay lit up and a few minutes later the sun had swung round into shot too.
Too pretty to resist!
After that it was blue skies all day

#268 - Zebra
I'd had my eye on this zebra crossing for a day or two and wanted to catch it when the evening light was shining down the street and casting long shadows.

#269 - American Cemetery III
The third of three different takes on the American Cemetery in Normandy, France.
This time I used the lensbaby to focus on just one headstone while keeping the impression of the rank upon rank of graves beyond. It took quite a while to find an "unknown soldier" with a suitable background but I thought that, rather than a specific named soldier, seemed more fitting.

#270 - Chinon Fortress
One of those touristy "ooh that looks nice" shots which became today's 365 effort when I didn't get a chance for any more photography!
Not bad, but there are better ones of this fortress to come

#272 - Strike Two
The is the second of two long exposure photos of a phenomenal thunderstorm above Chinon fortress.
This is hardly touched in photoshop - the sky really was that colour, I guess it's a combination of the lightning, clouds and light pollution from the town.
