David's Project 365
Re: David's Project 365
Today's shot is going to be delayed slightly, I was on a model shoot this afternoon and used someone else's camera for some frames. I want to see how they turned out too before deciding which my shot of the day is.
#34 - Marzieh
My first photoshoot with a model, organised and run by a friend of mine from work. Set on Fashion Street, London
Fun but very hard work - I've never done this before so wanted to learn as much as I possible could. Sadly I found many of my photos came out blurred, this was the best but will get more online as soon as I can. Tweaked a bit in Photoshop.
Strobist - reflector lower left to add fill light, YN460 through umbrella on 1/4 power, camera right about 3m away and 10cm above her head height

Re: David's Project 365
My second flash arrived today! Unfortunately I didn't have tons of time to set this shot up so looking at the outcome I've spotted bits and pieces I can improve next time.
Still, very educational and my new flash is epic
Strobist - YN460 behind vase angled to light backdrop, lowest power. YN560II through umbrella about 15cm directly above bouquet, held by my trusty human light stand Ricky

#36 - Gravity Lapse I
This was fun to setup and shoot!
Strobist - YN560II aimed at the white card background with pale blue gel.

Tried that, wasn't strong enough Had to use superglue and ended up somehow getting it onto my teeth of all places. The things I do for this hobby.

At least you did not glue your finger onto the shutter release! Could have been very awkward.

To be fair if you looked at the content of most of my memory cards you'd be forgiven for thinking I had stuck my finger to it...
#37 - Leaf Skeleton
After moving furniture around in the bedroom I found a leaf from a bunch of flowers that must have fallen behind the chest of drawers. Ideal photo fodder
It seemed to suit high contrast monochrome particularly well, letting you focus on the intricate detail.
Strobist - YN560II left at half power, YN460 right at 5/8th power
