Day 2 is going to be a challenge. There's nothing of interest near where I work, photography is banned in the nearby mall and after work I'm going straight to see a comedian (Bill Bailey on tour, yay!). So quality will probably suffer today.
Still, the challenge is going to involve using the X100s and process it in camera before uploading. See how resourceful I can be entirely "in the field"...

It's another typical grey UK winter's day here, so I am not sure what I am going to do either.

Well working a late shift this week pays dividends, it allows me the morning to devote some time to this challenge. So having seen some "interesting" snails nearby (I know that phrase does sound loco) I brought one back to my garden and found a leaf with some contrast on it in which to place my subject. Yes, its a grey day so it was ISO 1250 with my Sigma 105m macro shot at 1/200 @ F5.6. Converted to B&W in Bridge and some minor dodging and burning done and a slight crop.

An unusual shaped building, reminded me of TETRIS.

I can provide more info if needed but for such an odd building I went for a high contrast mono to accentuate the weirdness. Perspective correction simply did not work either. So it looks odd. But that is the point

It's also quite late and I do need sleep so forgive the brief explanation!

I totally agree on the ISO performance nowadays. Im pretty sure this is linked to the fantastic milky way shots you see regularly (visual candy to my eyes at least ), the concert/gig images that have zero noise and numerous other images that wouldnt be possible without higher ISO being set.

My entry for today. Like Paul, I ventured into my garden and was amazed to see some flowers are still growing, including this daisy.
