Day 2 - Five in Five

Technical details for my High Key Daisy shot.

Tripod and cable release

I needed a high shutter speed as there was some movement due to a slight breeze.

My usual workflow applied, Raw processing in Lightroom, followed by mono conversion in SEP2 where I applied the high key treatment.

This is the image as shot with no LR adjustments.

After LR processing. I tried using the Lightroom Heal tool to remove the dark patch at top left. This did not work particularly well as it left a dark area which I did not like in the initial mono conversion, so I used the Photoshop clone tool to tidy it up.

This was one of the contenders for my shot today. It is a leaf with its lower side upwards on a lightbox, which I covered with clingfilm to protect the surface, and illuminated from underneath. In SEP2 I started with a preset which creates a negative effect and then made some further adjustments to bring out the textures and patterns. I have called it Urban Leaf as it looks a bit like a city seen from high up.

An unusual shaped building, reminded me of TETRIS.

I can provide more info if needed but for such an odd building I went for a high contrast mono to accentuate the weirdness. Perspective correction simply did not work either. So it looks odd. But that is the point

It's also quite late and I do need sleep so forgive the brief explanation!

Looks like the attachment exceeds the maximum size to display on the forum. As you say, a strange building and no doubt a challnge for the architects to ensure structural integrity.

Technical details will be appreciated when you have opportunity.

I have had a long day and the evening I was doing a workshop, shooting ‘Artistic Female Nude’.

One of the images below I have just about got converted into B&W to share before the midnight deadline.

I made a copy into JPG below. Hopefully it will display OK.

Images need to be in JPEG format for the forum. TIFF is not supported, but it is not really designed for web usage anyway.

When I saved it after the conversion I didn’t check the format it saved as.

This was basically a grab shot - I was in the process of planning a shot of the trees (and hoping a person wouldn't take too long to walk out of sight) when the sun unexpectedly and briefly said hello, so I just took it.

Didn't get time to pick the best aperture or focal point and I had to clone out the person, plus it's not exactly the most exciting or original shot, but otherwise I'm reasonably happy with how it turned out.
