Photo evening down the local mines

Hi all
how would anyone fancy an evening of underground/light painting photography?
I have access to some local stone mines (quarries) located around the Caterham area.
They are very photogenic and relatively easy to move around in with the most difficult bit being the entrance door. There is even a large dinosaur fossil in the roof.
Im quite happy to take a group around in an evening over the summer. Or with enough notice, any time.

I'd be up for that definitely ! I used to belong to a caving club many years ago and have been down the Merstham mines a few times

Great suggestion, I am definitely interested. Until we spoke at the club the other night, I did not even know that there were any mines in the area.

Chance to re-use some small lights I have and might even try the burning wire wool trick.

If you get fine grade wire wool you can set fire to it (using a 9v battery) and produce images like this -

hahaha very cool. but no
looks like there is some interest. I can run a tour any time I am free. when would suit everyone? weekends are not normally good for me. evenings are better.
I have a spare helmet and lamp. but to kit more then one person out i would need to borrow gear of my caving club. they may want a donation (shouldn't be much)
all you will need is some outdoor cloths that you don't mind getting dusty. also take plenty of bags and stuff to wrap kit up in as you move around. the dust/dirt does tend to get every where.
Rose, the Merstham mines is a system called bedlems... very big, cant stand up anywhere and full of mud. we are not going down that one. I was thinking of a system called godstone main series.

I might even be able to find some of our old caving gear if it hasn't rusted completely away by now... It will be at least 25 yrs old
Are you still allowed to use carbide lights ? I'm sure I've been down the Godstone main series too - aren't they the ones that they tried to fill with cement prior to building the M23 ? LOl... as if
