London to Brighton Veteran Car Run

The annual LBVCR event will be taking place on Sunday, 4 November this year and provides a good photo opportunity as the cars come through Croydon. There are always a few celebrities taking part and one of the drivers this year will be Sir Stirling Moss. The first cars should be arriving in Croydon at around 7:30 and most will have driven through by 10:00. An added incentive is that the organisers hold a photo competition for the best picture taken of the event by a member of the public, with the top prize being a ride in one of the cars the following year. Based on previous years' results, the judges will be looking for images of one or more of the cars as well as human interest.

On the previous day, 3 November, many of the cars will be on display in Regent Street, in addition to vehicles from other eras in a pageant of motoring spanning 125 years. http://www.regentstreetmotorshow.com/

Gosh, what a wet morning the day of the run turned out to be. The organisers must be very disappointed since both the day before and the day after were both fine days for weather. It could not have been much fun in the cars since almost all the vehicles which are eligible for the run are open to the elements, so it is already very cold without getting wet as well.
