Thanks for the update, Tina. I am looking forward to my visit with Frank later on. According to the forecast, the sun should be shining but we will need to wrap up warmly.

Frank and I spent an enjoyable, if rather chilly, afternoon yesterday photographing the bluebells at Staffhurst Wood. We stayed until the setting sun was no longer providing contrast of light and shade on the ground. The bluebells were putting on a good display and photos will follow in due course.

While I have made several visits, until yesterday I had not realised that there are two car parks at the woods. The website shows just the one. The inevitable happened and I went to the car park I have always used and Frank went to the one listed by the website. Fortunately, we have mobile phones these days and we soon sorted it out. A road runs through the middle of the woods and I have always had better luck with the bluebells in the section located close to the Sylvan car park which is where we ended up.

Frank in action. Impressive use of the tripod. I did not bother at first but soon got mine from the car as even on a sunny day, I was getting settings higher than the base ISO 200 of my camera.

I have to agree with Mike, it was a great afternoon for photography. Thanks for organising this one Mike, it's a shame more club members were not able to share the experience. It was a very good afternoon out, definitely worth the journey - only 40 mins from Croydon. I haven't yet looked at my images on my camera, however I wanted to see if I could capture, edit and post from my phone.

if you look closely Mike is on his way back from a recky - And no, he is not treading on the bluebells! There's a path :D

On my way home I pulled in along the Purley way to capture this sunset
Well the process of capture, edit and post was as straight forward as adding to any other Social media platforms

A shot from Monday, which I used as my Zoom background at last night's club meeting.

Nice pictures Frank and Mike. Shame that I couldn't make it on the day.

To make up for it I went to Kingswood in Sanderstead this afternoon to check out the bluebells there. Unlike Monday, the light was very flat but there are lots of bluebells and fallen trees to occupy those who cannot travel far.

A couple of today's images.

One final image.

If time and bluebells permit, next time I'll try and get some decent light and take a tripod.

Regards,

Tom
