December 21 marks the winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere
More importantly is the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn that occurs every 20 years but apparenlty more brightly this year.

Unfortunately, cloudy sky over Croydon might obscure the view from after 4 to 6 pm.
If you miss the conjunction, you will still have a great view of the pair on any evening in December,
looking southwest after sunset, as their orbits take them apart.
Compliments of the season,
Iggy

Re: Great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn
Thanks, Iggy. It is a shame that the weather did not play ball.
Re: Great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn
Hi Mike,
Thursday and Friday could possibly offer a chance to see Jupiter and Saturn close together although not in conjunction.
