To All Members of Croydon Camera Club
The wellbeing of our members is, and always will be, the club’s highest priority. With the government’s latest advice to avoid all unnecessary contact during the Coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic, it is with regret that the next three meetings have been cancelled.
Council has been monitoring the situation for some time and has already taken some precautionary measures. As previously advised, we have deferred the Wratten Lecture to 7 October 2020. Mark Bauer will still be our speaker. The inter-club Centenary Trophy competition will now take place on 23 September 2020 and the judge, Steve Carroll, has confirmed his availability for the new date.
The DPI competition on 1 April will go ahead as planned, albeit with one significant change. The judge will assess our images at home and we will inform members of the results afterwards. The competition is already open in PhotoEntry and members should submit their entries as usual by the closing date of 30 March.
For the two following weeks, we will be on our Easter break. Council will continue to keep apprised of developments and nearer the date will make a decision whether meetings can safely resume for our print competition on 22 April. There will be further updates in due course. During this uncertain and unprecedented period, I would encourage everyone to use our club’s forum and Facebook pages to keep in touch with each other. I will also continue to issue my newsletters as frequently as possible, although they will not necessarily always be weekly.
I wish you all well and the best possible health in these difficult times.
Mike Farley
