Practical Photography no more...

Postby keithash » Fri 26 Jun 2020, 17:18

Hi All,

I received an email from Bauer Media today who publish the Practical Photography magazine.

They have decided to cease publishing the Practical Photography magazine in a printed and digital format so it seems July 2020 will be the last issue. The sales of magazine during the coronavirus pandemic has been hard so a lot more magazine titles are looking to close.

I've had a subscription to PP for a couple of years now i enjoyed watching the DVDs and got to know some of the presenters I will surely miss it...

I used to enjoy Practical Photography many years ago but it has not done much for me more recently. It was offered as an alternative when Bauer stopped publishing Digital Photo a while back and there were still a few issues left on my subscription. Even though there was not a lot of money involved, I still cancelled it. I agree, though, that the DVDs were interesting and well produced.

Amateur Photographer had a change of ownership during May and is now published by a compamny called Kelsey. As Keith says, things were already difficult for many magazines, not just photography ones, and Covid-19 will not have helped.
