Rare Sighting

Postby Mike Farley » Tue 21 Apr 2020, 12:35

Yesterday in my garden there was a robin singing heartily in a tree. Of course, by the time I had got a camera suitably equipped with a long lens, the robin had moved around to the other side of the tree where it could not be photographed. Instead, I ended up getting this shot of a woodpigeon. The best that can be said of it is that is does not fall into the "bird on a stick" genre.

Today, I was ready with my camera but the birds made themselves scarce. I did, though, have a glimpse of something much rarer. It is a Turkish Airlines plane, most likely transporting cargo rather than passengers. Maybe it was bringing in that much vaunted supply of PPE for the NHS? At the rate with which it is being used, the consignment would probably be sufficient for just a couple of hours.
