January 2022 - CCC Photo Shoot - Jeff

CCC organised a Photo shoot in the large church hall led by Graham Land with model, Paul Heester & Emmanuel Muscat.
Three different lighting set-ups were available for use.
The image of Jeff, who kindly posed, was taken using Paul's single flash on a post, triggered by an on camera slave unit.
It was a rather enjoyable evening!

February 2022 - Freightliner Engine

A Freightliner colourful engine with a full load.
Shot with my mobile phone at Clapham Junction around 11 pm last Friday.

It is an electric engine.
However, with the unprecedented rise in electricity charges, how long will it stay in service?

Looking forward to comments from David Beard and others.

No, this is a diesel locomotive (a class 59).

Electricity is the main form of power and most trains use it. The EMU you take to Victoria is powered by electricity and Network Rail is gradually installing OLE (overhead lines) north, east and west of London in an attempt to make photography of steam trains impossible. No, to eliminate the need for fossil fuel driven motive power, to green up the railway in line with government guidelines on carbon emissions.

Nice photograph, nevertheless. KEEP OFF MY PATCH!!
Regards

David A Beard.

March 2022 - CCC Portrait workshop

Andrew Dunsmore of Picture Partnership, Croydon, headed a wonderful all inclusive portrait workshop on Wednesday 8 March 2022.
With 3 setups featuring different light systems, there was a lot to learn.
Andrew presented In a friendly and cheerful manner, cajoling members to sit for the camera.
Really enjoyed the evening.

March 2022 - CCC Retro Bob Photo Shoot

We had a wonderful Photo Shoot with Retro Bob in the large church hall.
There was the opportunity to use a two source lighting set up to illuminate the face, which I did.
I also took images using my 430EX flash gun on camera bounced off the ceiling.
Captured Retro Bob playing his heart out with his saxophone!

Minimal Photoshop.

Thanks to Paul Hester, Emmanuel Muscat and all the others for all the work that went into organising this event.

April 2022 - Blue Hydrangeas

Mother's Day always offer good opportunities for photography of uncommon flowers.

April 2022 - Photo 2 - The Yellow Duckling

This afternoon, we went for a family walk in a very crowded Morden Hall Park and luckily found a car parking place.
Very busy, but I found a small quiet path that followed the river that brought us to the Rose Garden.
Rather lucky to come across day old Mallard ducklings with their mom, one of which was yellow.
It was difficult to get any decent images as they were fast moving most of the time.
Then a gang of 10 year old boys jumped into the water to chase the ducklings.
I shouted at the boys to stop it, which they fortunately did!
Seeing that little yellow duckling certainly made my day!!

May 2022 - Flowers at the Rookery
I checked out nature at the Rookery, Streatham Common, last week.
At first sight there was not really a lot about.
On closer inspection, I found several things of interest!!!
