December 2009

Southern Railways 'Merchant Navy' class no 35028 'Clan Line" at Kensington Olympia. These shots were taken a week apart. And don't ask who the photographers were - they were enthusiastic railway men not enthusiastic club members!

December 2010

A rather chilly morning at London Wetlands Centre (Barnes). This is one of the hides up the east side of the reserve.

December 2011

'Clan Line' but not 'Clan Line'. Her we see 35028 masquerading as 35017 'Belgian Marine' at Clapham Junction then later at East Croydon.

December 2014

On my travels photographing London for the RPS's 'Bleeding London' Project I also snapped these for my personal collection.

Norbury Brook marks the boundary between Norbury and Streatham. This was taken on the London Road just a few yards north of Norbury Station.

I found this chap doing Neighbourhood Watch duties in Thornton Heath (down Bentham Lane).

December 2009 (again)

A1 class new-build 60163 'Tornado' at Beckenham Junction on another cold day.

December is not a good month for getting out and photographing what I see. It's generally cold and miserable.

However, I did manage a few trips out (mostly to photograph steam locomotives) so here's the end of my project 'David's Photos of the Month'. It was an interesting trip through my archive and I did find some images which might make it into competitions.

I do have a lot of material left but I don't think I'll do another year!

Hi David,
Definitely a train enthusiast at work, when the same engine is captured at two different locations!
Nice image of cat in window.
Regards,
Iggy

'Clan Line' was on a Surrey Hills Circular tour. It left Victoria, joined the mainline down the western side towards Reading from where it continued via Redhill and back to Victoria, passing through East Croydon.
