Re: POTD 7 July 2014 - Peloton
You were lucky to find a spot. I used a 18-200 EFS on my 550D and was luckier than you in that respect. I got a few shots where the focus was fine(ish) with the cyclists passing me blurred. So any shots I may enter into competition will have to draw the judge's attention to the in-focus area (with a...

Re: POTD 7 July 2014 - Peloton
where I thought the crowds would not be so great as closer to the finish You were incorrect about the crowds. They look as thick in your location as they were in mine (the Embankment, close to Temple) although I should imagine the the crowds in the Mall would have been horrendous to shoot through, ...

Re: TOUR DE FRANCE
Great day (apart for the rain) wasn't it? I would have preferred the position at Westminster Bridge; I would have been able to see the entrants approaching and changing direction towards St James Park and been able to focus on them. Still, I can't complain too much as I did get some shots. Next time...

Re: TOUR DE FRANCE
I wanted to find a spot on the junction of Westminster Bridge and Embankment but came out of the underground station on the wrong side of the road. But was already very busy there at about 13:30. I finished up walking along Embankment looking for a spot. I eventually stopped at a spot just short of ...

I like it. B&W works well. I might have trimmed a little off the left (say half way to the first step).

I note you've converted a Canon 450D to infer-red. Would a 350D convert and how much would it cost?

Re: The Windmill
I like it. It's a v little OOF but that is probably movement of the moon during the long exposure. It's disappointing that there aren't a few more stars (just to keep the judges happy). But it's certainly something I'm going to try. I was hoping tonight might be a good opportunity but the weather fo...

Perhaps the London branch of the RPS do too much street photography in Greenwich!

Re: The Windmill
Thanks for all the advice. I suppose the only way forward is to try it and see. I would hope to have a more vertical looking camera to get around the Croydon light show but just to get some decent pictures would be plus.
