Cameraworld Live - 7 July

OK, a bit late posting this but anyone who is on the Cameraworld e-mail list will have learnt of this a while back. At least three members of the club will be there, myself included. The event coincides with an Open Pitlane track day on the Indy circuit at Brands Hatch so there will be lots to photo...

One of the highlights of the dockyard is "No. 3 Covered Slip" that features a unique construction with over 400 windows. It provides the opportunity for some striking images.

Happy Birthday OM-1

Back in 1972, the Olympus OM-1 was a revolutionary camera due to its compact size and promise of less weight to carry. Another aspect of the range was standardisation of filter sizes across many of the focal lengths. 49 mm for the more compact lenses and 55mm for the faster ones. The less expensive ...

Club Outing: Historic Dockyard Chatham - 18 July 2022 (POSTPONED)

The next club outing will be to the Historic Dockyard at Chatham. It is where many of the Royal Navy's ships were formerly built, including HMS Victory in 1759. The dockyard closed as a naval base in 1984 and is now open to the public. There is much to see and photograph, including three historic wa...

Re: Suggested Outing - Faversham (17 May)

Nice shot Mike. Thanks, Paul. Assuming that I get to it, my shot of the month for May will be another of the boatyard abstracts and has a provisional title of "Moonrise". Possibly in keeping with the "landscape" theme you have observed? It will be good to see another of Paul's t...

Re: Photo of the Month 2022 - Wave Watchers (February)

I am (slowly) writing blog posts about the images slected as my Photos-of-theMonth. The idea is that I will catch up with those already published and then start posting new images and the associated blog articlesimultaneously. The rate at which I create the the commentary needs to increase if I am n...

Well done, Ron. My camera, with long lens coveniently attached, was inconveniently upstairs. In the few seconds available, I simply cannot run that fast these days. :(

Always Have a Camera Ready!

They say always have a camera to hand as you never know what will happen. So when the helicopters from Thursday's Platinum Jubilee flypast on Thursday flew over my house as they were returning to base, I was prepared. Kind of. All I had to hand was my mobile phone; everything happened so quickly tha...

Has Fujifilm Done It Again?

Fujifilm introduced the X-H1 model in February 2018. It was based on the company's then existing technology which featured a 24 MP sensor and dated from 2016. Just six months later, the X-T3 came out with a 26 MP sensor, improved autofocus and a substantially lower price. The X-H1 boasted better bui...
