Re: Mountboard

We definitely have enough takers to place an order and at present it looks as though we will be going for one pack of white and two of antique white, i.e. a total of 75 sheets. Some people have expressed an interest, but not stated how much they are likely to need. Could I ask everyone who wants to ...

Re: The City at Night

..... I asked building management if I could go out into the open air section on our 9th floor they said no. Let's hope that your building's management team are not avid readers of this forum. ;) It's certainly an impressive shot and I look forward to seeing the update. When you do shoot the scene ...

Re: Underwater photography, first steps

One of the things which I am enjoying about the forum is seeing the variety of photography which people are doing, the results of which might not necessarily be seen at the club. Until now, I had no idea how many people are taking cameras underwater, adding a whole heap of difficulties to the proble...

Re: Annual Club Dinner

The Galicia Restaurant is booked for all those who have either paid Wally a deposit or stated their intention on this thread to attend. If you have not yet paid your deposit, can you let Wally have £5 per person ASAP. If anyone else wishes to attend the dinner but has yet put their name down, can yo...

Re: Mountboard

It looks as though we will have enough people interested for a combined purchase. If people can post their required quantities and colours to this thread, that will give us an idea of how many boards we are likely to order. As we can only order packs of 25 boards, to keep things simple I suggest tha...

Re: Cartier-Bresson exhibition @ Somerset House

It's just across the river from the Landscape Photographer of the Year exhbition, so it would be possible to combine both. Each one has free entry, as well. :)

Re: Autumn Colour

As we were leaving the arboretum, we bumped into Callum again and had a brief chat. He asked us to give feedback via an online survey at the National Trust's website. The incentive to do so is free entry in a draw to win a week in a NT holiday cottage.

Re: Landscape Photographer of the Year Winner Disqualified

According to the LPOTY website, David Byrne has had three of his four winning images disqualified for breaching the rules. The one which now remains is of Rugely power station which he entered in the one category where manipluation is allowed, yet he has denied that he did anything major despite no ...

Re: Landscape Photographer of the Year Winner Disqualified

The only thing that moon shot needs is a wolf howling at the sky ;) That might be an improvement! I originally missed the bit where he claims that this was a single shot, which is quoted in a number of places on the web although none which I can track directly back to him. For his own credibility, ...

Re: Landscape Photographer of the Year Winner Disqualified

I have now seen the composite image in your post and, yes, it is trashy. Not to my taste, but I can imagine it appealling to some. Personally, I have no other issues with it provided he has the rights to the different elements. Artistic freedom gives anyone the right to create all sorts of horrors, ...
