Re: Bluebells

I am monitoring the bluebells in my local woods and can see the plants but there are no sign of any flowers. It looks as though it will be a week or so yet before there is a decent display.

Bluebells

Yes, it is that time of year again. With the recent cold weather, it looks as though the bluebells will be a bit later this spring. I am monitoring the situation but have not seen any appear so far. I often go to Staffhurst Wood which usually has a good display. The best time to go is before the tre...

Re: Westerham Walkabout - 12 April

Beneath the statue of General Wolfe, some hardy people endure the distinctly chilly conditions for their first drink of the year at a pub, inside not yet being an option. No warm ale here! ;)

Re: Westerham Walkabout - 12 April

An enjoyable afternoon in Westerham earlier on, with the opportunity to meet up in person with Tom and Emmanuel.

A couple of topical shots from the day. Not many bunches of flowers in the second.

Re: Westerham Walkabout - 12 April

The BBC's forecasters have either just found some seaweed or stuck their heads out of the window and have now updated their prognosis to something closer to reality.

Re: Westerham Walkabout - 12 April

On the morning of our outing, I did not expect to wake up to falling snow. Especially in the middle of April. Neither did the BBC's weather forecasters, it would seem. The Met Office website appears to have a more accurate prediction, with the snowfall stopping between 10:00 - 11:00 and warming up t...
