Re: Bird photography day out April 2019
Apologies chaps, it now appears that Sunday 10th March is already booked (and equally Saturday 9th). He states the next available weekend is 16/17 March, of which I personally cannot make but if someone else were to drive then a group could visit. Otherwise that leaves weekdays in March or another w...

Re: 'The mad conductor'
Love this shot! Personally Im not bothered by the DOF issue as I can see the further wing sharpness is acceptable. Also like the darkening of background to focus our view.

Re: Bird photography day out April 2019
All After looking at John's blog from the same time last year - http://www.johnstantonphotography.co.uk/a-day-with-the-fiches/ - Im thinking about a visit on Sunday 10th March. He has confirmed that date is currently free so would anyone else like to join me on that day? He also mentions that the Bl...

Re: Third-party Printing Service Recommendations?
As Mike has already mentioned I will second http://dscolourlabs.co.uk/ as I really like their print quality. P&P is £4.99 so its best to gather a number of images you want printed and send a big order.

Bird photography day out April 2019
Hello all Im thinking of a repeat of 2017's visit to Millers Wood for bird photography (max 4 people allowed on site). My previous post http://forums.croydoncameraclub.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2463 explains all the details. I was thinking of April purely for some nice blossom to accompany the ...

Re: Birds On Sticks
Following on, how much interest is there among CCC members in working towards a PAGB award? With nature in mind, there might be several CCC members that could possibly be successful with CPAGB (10 images) or even the DPAGB (15 images). The next suitable PAGB Awards assessment is being hosted by the...

Re: 3Bags
Thanks for the reply Steve, have been away in Lake District so only just seen your post. Im a fan of your letterbox format, it concentrates the composition more and increases its abstract-ness (if thats not a word, it is now). Ive come across the Orton effect before but not sure it works here for me...

3Bags
Been a long time since Ive posted on here but need some advise on below image. This was a grab shot using my phone recently. Obviously the bold colours and symmetry attracted me to these 3 ladies (think it was a Mum and 2 daughters). This is a severe crop of the original. Not sure it has any merit b...

Thanks for the post. Lots of great shots there but the winner doesnt particularly stand out for me.
