Re: Bird photography day out

I have confirmed with the owner for Friday 14th July, currently only for myself and David. However, if anyone else would like to join us they are welcome and I will let him know numbers. David - Please bring along your 100-400 as I would be interested to try it out, although will still have my own z...

Re: Panning

Well done on finding a local rodeo! I would agree with Mike's comments on direction of movement for the rider and horse, there's a lot of directions occurring at the same time when riding a horse. You mention that you choose the fastest speed of the rider but you don't necessarily have to opt for th...

Re: Bird photography day out

How would Friday 14th July or Friday 21st July be for everyone??

Sounds like we would need 2 cars for everyone, happy to drive down there and take a few.

Bird photography day out

All Im considering a day out to a dedicated area of woodland south of Crawley called Millers Wood. Its run by photographer John Stanton who has purchased a few acres solely for the purpose of photography and spent much time and effort in building hides and attracting bird life. He understands that s...

Photo assignments/projects/sharing evenings

Last night club members were discussing many different aspects of our club including new ideas. One of these were along the lines of a photo assignment or theme, whereby members are given a brief and have a set time to produce images. Re: PAGB APM Awards in Croydon

I was told the next assessment is in October at Colchester, however this is already fully booked. The PAGB normally try to fit people into an APM day within a year of registering. However, if submitting prints you obviously have to bring them to the event and they do cover the whole of the UK so it ...

Re: Colin Prior - Mountain Man

Very much enjoyed this episode and have been a big fan of Colin Prior for many years. On my very first photo holiday to Glencoe around 10 years ago we got up early for the sunrise at Rannoch Moor to photography the iconic tree (that sadly blew down in a gale). But already in place in the perfect spo...

Re: Sunset at Cromer

Although I wont be present in Norfolk I can confirm that a Cromer sunrise can be really good. Below was a few years back in September (the sunrise angle very similar to April). Hope you all have a great trip! https://c1.staticflickr.com/7/6205/6129706078_38d50e8ff0_z.jpg Cromer sunrise by Paul Heest...
