Darktable - A Free Lightroom Alternative

Another in my occasional series of posts about possible Lightroom replacements. This one is called Darktable and appears to have a following in the Mac and Linux worlds. It has just become available for Windows as well. I have no experience of it although it looks like a possibility. Very often with open source software it can be the user interface which lets an application down, but this one appears to be decent.
