Today, I called our Croydon shop, High Street Radio & Photographic on the off chance that they might have an old Canon 100-400mm lens to hire. No such luck.
So will share David's 2nd lens, subject to David willing.
I understand that all 6 hides at Millers Wood will be setup and available for our use that I am looking forward to doing.
Also reading through some of the feedback, it would appear that John Stanton is happy to provide voles and mice if given enough notice.
Hoping for nice weather.
Iggy
Bird photography day out April 2019
Re: Bird photography day out April 2019
Hi Paul,
What time are we setting out for Millers Wood?
David & I would be grateful for a car ride there and back.
I will bring a packed lunch with me.
Thanks for organising.

I can be at the church carpark for around 8.15am for both David & Iggy, if that suits?
Presume Mike will be driving there himself??

With the inclement weather do we want to think about postponing Thursday? Rainy in the morning with gusty winds most of the day is the rough forecast.
Re: Bird photography day out April 2019
I had a look this morning on BBC weather that predicted rain almost all day tomorrow.
All three of you have been there before, so you are better at predicting if there will be less birds and less light.
Regards,
Iggy

I'm not sure I want to be around a forest in high-wind conditions. A postponement makes sense but not too long please!

Ive emailed John some questions on what the conditions would mean for the birdlife so may know more soon. From memory it was a well drained site and doesnt suffer from mud.

John has replied saying it's not best especially with the high winds. Can I suggest Thursday 21st March to him?

Works for me. Let's hope the weather has calmed down a bit by then.
