Our Croydon Camera Club being featured in Amateur Photographer led me to partaking in their APOY Competition, which was managed by PhotoCrowd.
This then led me to entering some of the friendly PhotoCrowd competitions where the first entry in each competition is free.
There are dozens of ongoing competitions where one can use images already prepared for CCC competitions without involving extra production time.
Entering a few selected competitions has certainly added an element of excitement to my hobby.
Here are some of my recent entries in the PhotoCrowd competitions:

Please take a look and hopefully you might even decide to join in by using the one free image per competition.
It is definitely worth trying out. It does give my hobby a bit of a buzz!
It certainly is FUN.
Happy New Year,
Iggy

Re: Fun with PhotoCrowd Competitons
I would second Iggy's suggestion to enter the Photocrowd community. I joined after Paul first mentioned it here on the forum.
If you really want to stretch yourself there are daily competitions or you can pick and mix when and what you enter, I think there is something here for everyone.
It's a great platform to share your work with a larger community of fellow Togers. Not only is a good opportunity to share your work but you also get to see some really inspirational work from others from around the world.
I haven't taken the plunge and subscribed so I'm the limited to one entry per competition and there are some comp's that are for subscribers only. I agree with Iggy there is a certain buzz one gets from entering a comp particularly a popular one, your one entry against 2K or more others. It certainly makes you think more about what image will do well.
I would encourage you to get onboard, as Iggy said you can start with what you have! The sign up is straight forward and the upload requires only a little more effort than Photoentry.
Hope to see you there!

Re: Fun with PhotoCrowd Competitons
During this Covid 19 lockdown, activities organised by Croydon Camera Club, U3A photography and recently Photocrowd competitions have kept me engaged, active and in good spirits.
Since December, I have taken part in a fair few Photocrowd set title competitions utilizing the one free entry and not using the 7 extra paid for that are permitted.
I have had a good February, but still surprised myself today by dropping into their top 2000 photographers.
This is transient and may not last long as it changes on a weekly basis depending on one's 24 most successful results in the last 12 weeks!!

Hopefully you might decide to take part too.

Re: Fun with PhotoCrowd Competitons
Since our Croydon Camera Club was featured in Amateur Photographer in 2021, each week I have taken part in a few PhotoCrowd competitions.
Initially, I entering the friendly Community PhotoCrowd competitions that are judged just by the participants.
Recently, I have switched to their expert judged Community Competitions and some of their Premium Competitions too that are much more difficult to score in.
Today, I was pleasantly surprised to note that, 15 of my 24 valid scoring images were in the expert judged categories.
Here are my 24 valid entries in this week's PhotoCrowd competitions:
