Shot of the Week 2019/15 - Stride

Image

This was not going to be my shot of the week. It really wasn't. Then something occurred to confer it with far greater significance. To find out what happened, read my blog (link below):

Hi Mike,
Striking image!
Well done with the success of this image in the first round of Amateur Photographer magazine’s 2019 Amateur Photographer of the Year competition.

I did purchase Amateur Photographer to have a look at all the Black & White images and more.
I see that the next task in APOY 2019 is landscapes.

Also, A&P were reviewing the Lumix FZ1000 II that I need Panasonic to let me play with for a month or more to replace my aging FZ1000 MkI.

The round after that is "Animal Magic" and both are tough. There are a lot of people out there doing some extremely good work.

I read the review and was struggling to work out how the Mk II is radically different from the original version. A few tweaks and better video seems to be the extent of it. If your camera ain't broke, why fix it?

I just have a small problem of a stuck filter that seems misaligned on the fz1000.
Looked on the internet and the suggestion was to use one or two filter wrenches to remove it; the second one to hold the lens.
Perhaps High Street & Radio or Richard Frankfurt offer that service.

Reg at the Croydon Photo Centre might be able to help, but it is not at all Richard's area. Filter wrenches have worked for me in the past. It hardly seems like something where the solution is a new camera. Not unless you want to upgrade, of course.

Must see if we can get "High Street & Radio" to sponsor our exhibition next year!

Later this week will purchase a pair of Neewer® Rubber-coated 62mm Metal Camera Lens Filter Remover Wrench Set from Amazon and give it a go myself.
It looks fairly straight forward.
Anything I should look out for?

Not really, other than to apply the force carefully, gently at first and then building up until the filter starts to move. All the wrench is doing is increasing the leverage.
