I picked it because it's close enough to where I work to visit during lunch, but there are definitely better parks where it'll be easier to get good viewpoints.

I was using my compact, but definitely needs a greater depth of field and dynamic range, so next time I'll use my SLR.

The larger sensor will work for you when it comes to better dynamic range but the longer focal length required will produce a shallower depth of field. Focus bracketing can help with that. SLR lenses tend to have quite long minimum focussing distances which could make filling the frame difficult. Maybe you are going to need a bigger spoon.

I found a silver spoon in the road once, it is always interesing when objects are displaced from their normal surroundings... I know this is not the same but it is well captured abd I love the title too !

Thanks Sarah, I was waiting for the two elements to come together, rain in the morning and a sunny afternoon - finally the weather aligned to what I had visualised. The shot was taken with my compact as I wanted a good depth of field all the way through the photo; however it also meant I had to do some quick post processing work. If I was using this for anything serious I would spend a bit more time making it less obvious but its just a bit of fun and delivers on the brief!

Did a few basic experimental shots.

A beautiful sunny morning yesterday offered the opportunity to explore harder shadow with my spoon in glass.
This was shot indoor with sunlight streaming into the lounge.
Any comments on the two?
