Hi Sarah, forgot you had said you were going to China hope you are enjoying the trip. I thought I would do a little research re accommodation. I came across the booking.com website it has a helpful map laying out various guest houses/hotels and their relationship to the area we are considering photographing https://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/ballyc ... map_opened hope this is of some help

Here's something you might like to try. It's about 35mins (by bus) from Belfast. No doubt you'll have your own car(s).

Hi Sarah,

the Premiere Inn @ Coleraine looks a good bet, the trip advisor ratings look good. I note they have their saver rate available (but it does mean no cancellations or amendments).

Frank, excellent idea on premier inn Coleriane. The price looks really good. And everyone liked it previously

I’ve made the leap and booked a room there from the Friday 22 March to Monday 25 March.

Next up finding a place to stay in Belfast on the Thursday night.

So I have two queries recently:
How much walking?
What other options are there if you don’t like flying?

Walking: As this mostly landscape photography there is going to be walking. The last mile from car to location is can be up to twenty minutes and over rocky, muddy, slippery ground. This is also likely to be up or down slopes.
E.g Giants causeway; is about 15-20 minute walk down hill to location on tarmac. Only when the centre is open is there a little shuttle up and down the hill.

Other transport options: the best other option is going via ferry. There are three ways. 1. Go to Holyhead and boat to Dun loghaire and then travel up. This can include the train from Dublin to Belfast. Option 2; ferry from Liverpool to Belfast. Option 3: ferry from Stranarer( though technically outside of it) to either Larne (then catch train). Or to Belfast.

We watched Simon Reeve in Northern Ireland, which we had recorded from a few weeks ago. He travelled from The Giants Causeway down to Belfast.
The scenery is beautiful. If you get to watch it ignore the bit about the troubles in Belfast.
Worth a watch if you can.
