PAD 119 - Tree Trunk

Postby Mike Farley » Thu 09 May 2013, 12:24

Day 119 and another trip to the local woods. I shot low to the ground using a camera converted to infrared and a wideangle lens.

Canon EOS 450D converted to infrared, 720 nm filter
EF-S 10-22 f/3.5 4.5 USM
Focal length 10 mm
1/100 sec
f/8
ISO 200

Converted to mono using Silver Efex Pro 2.

Thanks, Rose. There is something very special about the way an IR camera can bring out textures in subjects like tree trunks. For comparison, I am including another shot from the same session taken with the same lens, but instead using my unmodified EOS 7D.
