S40: Blue Lantern in La La Land

Challenge: Blue, Extra Credit: Use CTB Gel

Today, Sunday, no blue sky anywhere to be seen. Had a morning Zoom call with friends in Oz.
Afternoon was busy watching Fareed Zakaria GPS on CNN with a break before Spur trashed Man United.
In that one hour, had a quick look round the house and found the blue lantern.
Shot it with a blue filter on the flash gun, which did not add much to the image.
Large framed poster of La La Land provided the perfect back drop for today’s challenge.
No flash this time; just natural lights. All done in that one hour.
I think that I earned the extra credit. Hope you all agree.

S41: Looking Through the Glass

Challenge: Shoot Through; Extra Credit: Candid on the Street

Our garden, in this time of the Covid 19 pandemic, is a wonderful living space.
The two green chairs catch a lot of sun and are often used for lunch or tea.
Four more chairs come into play when friends or family are visiting.
The magpie and squirrel were encouraged to visit with diced up bread.
Still a fair few flowers and colourful berries in the garden too.
This garden view was shot through the French windows of our dining room.

Week 42: Lasagne with Red Wine

Challenge: Food photography; Extra Credit: Complementary Colors

The plan was to arrange some food on a nice plate to photograph in a stylised manner.
I decided to take a few trial shots the night before under bright kitchen lights.
Next day though, before I could consider the stylised photography, the lasagne was gone.
Fortunately, I was left with my rough and ready, rustic images that I had already shot.
Bon appétit!

S 43: Reflections

Challenge: Reflections; Extra Credit: Use a Mirror

With so many mirrors in our home, I did not stress about this challenge.
Tried a dressing table mirror moved to another location without much success.
At the weekend, time was running out with lots of football and the F1 to watch.
Finally went with large mirror on the wall and worked out angles for best effect.
