S27 Path Way to Sunshine - My Bus Man's Holiday!

Challenge: “Edited by Someone Else“

Unfortunately, I have got my challenges mixed up this week and just noticed this at 5pm on this Sunday!
I was sure that it was “Edited by Someone Else“, rather than “Complimentary Colours”

With "Edited by Someone Else", I was going to take a bus man's holiday and have no involvement from an outsider.
At this 11th hour, I am going forward with that plan and presenting an image shot this week.
No rhyme or reason for this image selection, except that its different from my other SOTWs and I quite like it.
Moreover, I think Brown and Green go rather well together in the natural scheme of Life on Earth!

S28 Violet Buddleia on Yellow Fernleaf Yarrow flowers

Challenge: “Complimentary Colours”

We have two large Buddleia bushes in our garden.
When the buddleia are in bloom, they bring us a lot of joy.
Today a continuous flock of peacock butterflies came by to feed.
A comma, red admirals, meadow browns & large whites, also visited.

Our buddleias bushes have small violet flowers.
The complimentary colour for Violet is Yellow.
The fernleaf yarrow has small yellow flowers.
Put together, the buddleia flowers jump out!

S29 Small Hoverfly

Challenge: Details. Extra Credit: HDR

To get close-up detail required a macro lens
That meant using the Canon 70D with a 17-70mm Sigma lens.
Nice lens with macro through the whole range.

Moving insects tested my patience.
So worked with a whole range of sedentary flies.
Captured one with a nice background.

S30 Tiny spider with Negative Space

Challenge: Negative Space. Extra Credit: Street Photography

In another world, my street photography tended to be the “in your face” type.
Covid 19 has changed all that, as now, I would be inclined to ask before shooting,
Recently, such a request was a definite no from a man in the park.

So, once more, I have had to resort to the bounties of our wild garden.
I was watching with disdain the fast-moving bumble bees on the hydrangeas.
Suddenly noticed a small movement as a tiny 5 mm spider popped out briefly.

Got my Canon 70D with 17-70mm macro lens ready should another chance arise.
The little spider popped out again into the sunlight on the 2 cm square white flower.
Managed to get off 3 shots before the spider disappeared for good into the undergrowth!

Decided to change to a "softer image" with a cooler colour palate.
