City in the Mist

Postby Iggy » Thu 02 Apr 2020, 14:24

This is what I had in my mind's eye for City in the Mist and it took me just a minute to do it just now.
Not sure it would have done much better in the comp even though it caught the judge's eye.
Isolated by Corona Virus might have been a better title.
What do you think?

Sky on Fire
Yesterday evening at 7.40 pm I luckily looked out of the window and saw that the clouds high up in the sky were ablaze.
I grabbed my camera and rushed up into the loft to get a view of the beautiful spectacle.
I hung out of a window to try and capture some of the wonderful after glow of the setting sun.
I decided to include the bare trees and roof tops to give context to the image.
Ten minutes later it was gone and it was soon time to go outside on the street to clap and cheer all the Carers that are looking after our sick.
Take care. Keep safe.
Best wishes,
Iggy

Just now, i was pondering cutting the lawn on this delightful, sunny day.
A peacock butterfly flew into the garden and started sunning itself on a bush.
Luckily I had my FZ1000 with me.
I got just the one shot before it moved position and finally flew off.
Just lovely. Certainly a good omen.

Wild life in the garden

Lots of buzzing in the garden, predominantly from the black hairy-footed flower bee.
The garden has been awash with flowers on the camellia bushes, but these are not producing nectar that is attracting any insects.
The hairy footed bees are collecting nectar from two tiny blue flower – Comfrey and Rosemary.
It takes the bee about a second to land on the flower, collect the nectar and move on.
Hardly enough time to get one shot off!

Hope yet for recovery in City in the Mist.
Take Care. Stay safe.
