Interesting, how did you light it? I have an idea how I think you did but not sure.

Intriguing shot, although I am somewhat undecided. But "Fashion Shoot"? I see an unusual portrait.

Davidc – Single light from shoulder height from the left with the flash slightly behind a foam board. You get a better idea with original shot below. I have played around in Lightroom, converted and further edited in Silver Efex Pro 2.
I have angled the shot for effect by using the light board from the right to capture some light. I had asked her to close her eyes and dream of something / someone and used her long hair as a scarf around her cheeks. (I don’t know but she could have been dreaming of Mike. Hey weird things do happen)
Mike – The workshop was ‘Fashion’ so I have left the title as is. I have cropped some of her lower body as I didn’t feel it added anything. I also wanted to focus on that dreamy far away feel to the photograph. I suppose the correct title should be" Portrait with a twist"?

It's your photo, you can name it how you choose

Knowing that you are doing a lot of courses at the moment, I assumed that something like that had happened. It does not matter much here, but others might find such an approach to titles to be confusing. Incidentally, your suggested title works much better and I like that "twist" has more than one meaning in this context.

Quite right too.

I have at last started the editing process. I am trying to put my own flavour to the images. As long as the eyes remain sharp everything else, as far as I am concerned, is open to interpretation.
I want to give my images a little ‘quirkiness’. Whatever that works I don’t know so I am just going to enjoy the ride and experiment.
In the second image, she is wearing my hat.

Had hired a studio yesterday evening for male and female portrait shoot. It seems so much easier to work with a woman than a man for some reason. Or maybe I have only done female work so far.
I have been carry a dose of flu so the evening was a bit heavy going.
The image below has been edited. I have included a soft shadow on one side with the single light set-up.

Been very busy with some great fashion models lately. The one below, Jordann was a real pleasure to work recently.
She was the most shot hair model in 2013, featuring in 15 British hairdressing award entries, plus various hair collections and campaigns such as Toni&Guy and the Goldwell worldwide Reallusion Campaign.
She has been photographed by Rankin and is also the current campaign model for British tailor and designer Joshua Kane.
Done some draft editing on the pictures below. Got a number of shoots I have to get around to editing. At the moment I am averaging 3 to 4 shoots a week. A lot of processing to do.
