Likewise a double shot, I could not remember who had taken one like this before but had seen one.
Well done, I can only admire all the efforts being taken by everyone concerned.

This one was inspired by the folks from 500px on twitter announcing they were going out to photograph owls this weekend which got me thinking. I fancied a little more strobism practice and ended up with my lighting kit in the street to get the bokeh I was looking for :)

Modelled by my wife who is under the weather with a cold right now, and asked I focus on the owl rather than a full portrait, I only got three or four shots before the cold and rain sent her inside and the wind nearly knocked my umbrella over!

It was hugely fun taking this and I did a mini write up on how I achieved it here -

I read your write-up on how you achieved this and must say it sounds complicated. I can't help admiring your patience and dedication to the task in hand. Excellent result!

It's actually dead easy to do and you need a minimal amount of kit. Technically you don't even need a flash, though I think it makes it better/easier.

#14 - The Ascent

Postby davidc » Tue 15 Jan 2013, 01:08

Didn't have much time tonight so did something quick, easy and fun. This project is getting to be quite tiring!

Yes it IS mashed potato.
