Did the long anticipated launch meet expectations? With the exception of those who endeavour to take photos of black cats in coal cellars (if any such thing still exists in this fossil fuel conscious age ;)), the A7s cameras have always been more biased towards video. That is not of much interest to me. Unlike Canon, Sony clearly believes that there is currently not much demand for 8k video in the consumer market. Either that or the heat dissipation challenges were too complex to overcome at the A7s III's price point.

Early reports suggest that the new Sony camera does overheat and, under certain conditions, can do so faster than the Canon R5.

While (for me at least with my lack of interest in video) it is strictly OT, here is a counterbalance to the overheating "problems" with the latest Canon and Sony cameras are used for video. It turns out that it is nothing new and even film had it issues with heat.
