Late Night Photography St Paul's Cathedral

Postby Mike Farley » Mon 20 Aug 2018, 08:59

Photography is not normally permitted within St Paul's Cathedral, although I am not sure how they can regulate the tide of tourists with their cameraphones. (Divine intervention, maybe?) On Thursdays evenings throughout August that changes as there are special late night openings when photography is not only allowed, it is actively encouraged. The only stipulation is that all cameras must be handheld. The first two evenings have passed but there are still two left to go. The link below has details, including information about the restrictions on what equipment can be used.

This information comes courtesy of Derek Forss, who has produced a short video which shows some of the photographic possibilities and issues which could be encountered. (Note that he is sponsored by Olympus, hence the reference to its equipment.)

Shame I missed this as I could have popped over there after work. Watched Derek's video and agree St Pauls has plenty of good images, was also amused by his voiceover for its thesp tones and measured pronunciation.
