There is no Premier Inn at Keswick. The one in Kendal looks OK, but has limited free parking which is allocated on a first come, first served basis.

There is another Premier Inn at Penrith, which is closer the more dramatic locations of the Northern Lakes than Kendal. Parking is limited at this hotel as well.

Cockermouth is an option, being closer to Keswick at the heart of the Northern Lakes than either Penrith or Kendal.

If Premier Inn is the choice of hotel, there is little point in booking at present. Only the more expensive flex rate at around £77 per night is on offer, not the less expensive saver one.

Oh, yes, I nearly forgot. We are proposing to go during the half term school holidays. In addition to the area being busier, accommodation prices will be higher as well. :(

Wally,

You have not confirmed what you are intending to book and how much. Can you please confirm as requested in my earlier post?

Regards,

Location guide from Amateur Photographer: http://www.amateurphotographer.co.uk/te ... take-99964

The recommended hotel looks good, but is pricey.

Hullo all who are interested in the Lake District outing. I have booked the Premier Inn at Kendal as I think that is the nearest to the lakes that we can get to quite easily. The Address is : Maude Street, Kendal LA9 4QD. Tel: 0871 527 8562. It is on the A5284 directly off the A6 so fairly close to the A591 which leads us up into the a lot of interesting lakes and viewing areas.
We have the rooms priced at £320 per room for 4 nights ( Thursday thru till Monday 19th-23rd October 2017 ) thats twins.
£160 isn't bad per person. We can probably get more rooms if need be. Parking may be a problem but where isn't. At least it won't be awkward to park.
I think that is all I have to say as of now, any queries, ask. Keep healthy.
Regards to all

Mornin' All, just a quick update on our trip to Lake District.
I have just cancelled the booking for 7 Twin rooms and booked my own, with no trouble to myself. Now I recommend you all book as soon as possible as
rooms go very quickly and may be more expensive as time goes by.
I have set up a booking number which is AYSR115900 under my name, W.A. CONQUY, in case you new members don't know me.
So there are twin rooms and doubles so order what you like.
When you book could you notify me so I can tell you things later you may need to know.
Don't forget everybody welcome.

Hi Wally, I have booked mine online, the cost is the same - £320. Looking forward to it, only been to the Lakes once (nearly 20 years ago) it was just an overnight stay didn't have a chance to take any pictures - hope this trip will give an opportunity to capture some of the beauty shown in your photos. Thanks for organising
