Yeah I tried resizing down to the lowest image quality parameter in photoshop and still they were too big! If I get time I'll then try to shrink resolution but it seems like a lot of hassle for some awful photos :)

Hi David
Good to see your images too.
Having left you all in Croydon for lunch in Crystal Palace, we got soaked after lunch on the way back to the car, with the double rainbow above us!
No slr camera with me then and could not get the new mobile phone camera working either.

I loved the fact that when he asked why we didn't talk to George Harrison anymore he had no idea you were referring to the fact George is no longer with us.

Images need to be considerably reduced in size before uploading to the forum - 750 x 500, 120 KB is a good size.
Then below the text: Options, Attachments, Add Files. Then Preview to see how they look before submitting.
Come on, lets see some images.

For the unknowing, how do you actually reduce images in size? Can you provide an idiot's guide, please :)

And is it possible to get notifications by email when someone has posted on this thread?

Which image editing application do you use? They will all do things slightly differently, but equally all will have a function which will be called "Image Size" or similar where you can resize. Once we know what application you use, it will be easier to give a more tailored response.

There is also a lot of information on the Internet. Google "image resize <application name>" and you will get more links than you shake a stick at.

Rebecca, when you post a reply, see 5 boxes below that you can tick, including Notify me when a reply is posted

It would be nice if Forum software could automatically reduce size of images that we are trying to load.

In Photoshop, open an image then go File > Automate > Fit Image

This lets you specify the maximum image dimensions. Combined with changing the quality you save them, it can see some pretty drastic reductions in file size and quality (as evidence by images you see on the forum)

In Lightroom, when you export you can also specify the longest edge length in pixels plus the resolution, 72dpi is the norm for internet use.
