Many thanks to Peter for organising this Croydon Wide photo walk. A very enjoyable afternoon. Something we should do more often.

Well that went well. Thank you to everyone who came along and made it a success.

From what I saw of the images others took, there were some good photos captured, and I've definitely got several with potential.

I'll see about posting some here once I've properly gone through them, and hopefully others can do the same - let's show the rest of the club what they missed. ;)

It would be great to arrange more walks like this - some clubs do it on a regular basis, and there's no reason Croydon can't too - even the same photographers doing the exact same route could get completely different images on another day - but there are also plenty of places in town we didn't get to today, and lots of locations in the vicinity that could easily fill a few hours.

Peter,

Thank you for arranging Saturday's walk and for selecting such an interesting route. I enjoyed the afternoon very much and I know the others did as well. Yes we have some interesting images to show and hopefully we can arrange another similar walk in the future.

Any suggestions or offers anyone?

Kind regards,

Tom

A friendly encounter

Perhaps it was the sunny weather as the people we encountered were in a friendly mood. Paul and I spent some time talking to this chap, who is a regular visitor to Croydon from the American mid-west via Liverpool and Austria.

The route took us past Croydon College, which is by the former field where livestock fairs were traditionally held and gives the area its name.

Another taken in the market. I must remember to use this in a competition where the judge has expressed a liking for eye contact. ;)

The guy in my second photo talking to Paul said he was a wrestler. After a bit of research, it turns out that his ring name is "Avalanche" and he weighs 390 lbs. I'm glad he was friendly. :D
