Apple and Photography

Postby Mike Farley » Tue 17 Sep 2019, 08:23

Perhaps the most eye catching part of the post in the link below is that back in 2015 Apple reportedly had 800 engineers working on the cameras in its phones. There is also an advert on TV at present which refers to "background bokeh"*. It probably says a lot about me and my almost zero interest in mobile phones that I cannot recall the product** but my attention is caught by a previously obscure photographic term becoming mainstream. Perhaps the most significant bit of the article comes in one of the featured comments - the extent to which photography and video is becoming mainstream on these devices. Territory which used to be occupied exclusively by camera manufacturers.

* Maybe one day my curiosity will be sufficiently peaked to check whether "bokeh" is being pronounced "correctly" in the advert. :(

** I doubt whether I form part of the target audience for the majority of TV advertising, particularly as I do not watch the mainly trite programming during the day. ;)
