SPA club members will be deeply saddened and shocked to learn of the death of Agnès Proudhon-Smith. She was this week involved in a tragic accident on a photography workshop while photographing the sea at Nisabost in the Isle of Harris. She was on some rocks when hit by a freak wave which engulfed some other members of the group she was with and she was swept out to sea. She was rescued by the coastguard and taken to hospital in Stornaway but could not be saved. Agnès was a talented and popular member of Molesey, Kingston and Richmond & Twickenham clubs. She had recently been awarded her ARPS and she was very successful in SPA competitions. She will be greatly missed by all of us.
