2018 - The Year Mirrorless Will Become Mainstream?

Postby Mike Farley » Fri 06 Oct 2017, 08:40

If the rumours are to be believed, both Canon and Nikon will finally be releasing mirrorless cameras. True, there was the Nikon 1, a capable camera about which Nikon was never really serious. Canon has the EOS-M models, but they are a bit on the small side. What both Canon and Nikon appear to be lining up are full frame models. Which means high end. Transitioning from established DSLR systems was always going to be difficult. Too sudden and customers have the opportunity to move elsewhere, too slow and they leave anyway out of frustration. There are plenty of people already in that second group. Maybe next year we will start to find out what those in the first group will do,

One thing, though. Right now does not seem to be a good time to invest in a new DSLR system.
