Landscape Photographer of the Year Winner Announced

Postby Mike Farley » Mon 24 Oct 2016, 15:53

I am not sure the winning image would be my top choice, but it is unusual and demonstrates the potential of locations which are relatively easy to access from Croydon.

Hello everybody, I sometimes think these professional photographers want to keep us down when judging for these competitions.
Perhaps they are afraid of the competition. To me that image had no merit at all, £10,000 is a joke. No atmosphere at all.

The exhibition is currently on a Waterloo Station. It is worth seeing if in the area.

Must remember to drop in at the Balcony at Waterloo to see the free exhibition before 5 Feb.
Like to learn more about Landscape Photography, which I guess is a lot about the light.
Perhaps some CCC away day outings would be good.

I think it's a very good image. Without seeing the rest of the competition it's hard to say if I'd have voted it top, but it certainly is interesting, different, well executed and not one of the endless clones of golden hour-mountain-water-clouds that tend to dominate landscape photography.
