End of the Decisive Moment?

Has the time come when stills photography is no longer about predicting the action and choosing the right time to press the shutter, but selecting the right shot from a video sequence? This Amateur Photographer article refers to 4K video, but 8K is not that far behind once technology has the capability to process double the amount of data on a portable device. 8K will produce 16 MP images, which is more than sufficient to produce a high quality A3 print.
