I am not sure how US copyright law compares to UK legislation, but this makes interesting reading.

Yet another example of copyright breaches, this time by two agencies that really should know better given the business they are in. I can well imagine what would happen if someone made similar unauthorised use of these companies' images. If the damages are not punitive in this instance, copyright becomes worthless.

It seems that punitive damages have now been awarded to the photographer whose copyright was breached.
