Tethering

Postby Mata » Tue 02 Dec 2014, 18:04

I have had some problems getting some long (5m) cabling for my tethered shoot tomorrow. A cable arrive yesterday. When I tried to connect the camera I found the Mini pin the wrong size. It was for full frame camera.

I was panicking a bit as it was too late to order another one in time to arrive for tomorrow. Fortunately for me I came across a company based in Wandsworth called UKLIGHT run by a very pleasant man called Ashley. They specialise in all aspects of high end professional lighting for camera and video. They are also agents for Tether Tools.

He was so helpful when I explained my situation. He rummaged through his boxes and found a returned cable which he was willing to let have at no cost. I popped over to the warehouse in Wandsworth and picked not one but two as he had another in stock. Since they only deal with bulk orders they get bits left over.

He wouldn’t take any money so I bought a jerk strap for my camera and laptop to help contribute.

He gave me a tour around his studio lighting products. His warehouse is really something.

If anyone is interested in any Tethering Tools or high end lighting he is the best person to talk to before you buy anything.

His website ink is: http://www.uklight.co.uk/

Thanks for the heads up. I had not heard of this company previously, so it's useful to know that it is out there. Ashley sounds as though he is both knowledgeable and helpful, not to mention generous.

Good luck with the shoot.
